News from the studios

In Corona times, we have discovered a paradise right on our front doorstep – the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains)! This idealised German landscape has fascinated and inspired musicians and painters, poets and architects for centuries, from Byron to Beethoven, from Heine to Wagner. After a year of hard work, our edition is now complete. We have roamed the Siebengebirge in all directions, captured sketches, worked in our studios and created seven works, which we are offering in a limited edition of 777 copies. The edition presents the seven art prints in a gift box, a brochure about the world of the Seven Mountains with further artistic works, historical photos and explanatory texts, as well as an original Siebengebirge trachyte stone.

As the highest mountain in the Siebengebirge, the Ölberg, at 461 metres, provided a fantastic natural backdrop for a very special charity event. We were able to set the perfect stage for two extraordinary animal welfare projects with a breathtaking view over the Eifel and the Cologne Bay: In the company of good friends and companions, Tierschutz Siebengebirge and Bergische Greifvogelhilfe had the opportunity to present their voluntary work and promote their respective institutions. Accompanied by their feathered protégés – the eagle buzzard, kestrel and eagle owl – and supported by a loyal furry friend, the animal rights activists and helpers talked about their experiences and adventures in their daily work for these animals. With great commitment, they help to rescue injured or orphaned birds of prey and owls as well as giving abandoned and mistreated dogs and other animals a real second chance, which would be lost without their help. The respective teams manage to accomplish these tasks with a great deal of expertise, time and, last but not least, financial donations. We were therefore all the more delighted that a total of over 4,500 euros was raised for the two animal welfare organisations at this event. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our generous supporters and helpers once again!

The canopies of tropical rainforests are among the most species-rich habitats on earth. They are also home to the white-headed capuchin monkeys, which are considered to be particularly intelligent, but whose populations have become increasingly rare due to the destruction of their habitat. This is why we chose this monkey species as the main motif for our joint work “Rainforest Nature’s Crown” for the Museum Koenig, which we created following the highly acclaimed WILDLIFE exhibition as part of a further collaboration with the Museum Koenig. The large-format original adorns the entrance to the rainforest exhibition to draw attention to the major exhibition project on rainforest research and its promotion through donations. An exclusive special edition of this artwork has been produced in a limited and signed edition of 300 copies, 100 of which we have given to the Museum Koenig to thank supporters. A considerable sum has already been raised so far. We are very pleased about this!

A few copies of this edition can still be purchased for 75 euros. Each copy is hand-signed, numbered and comes with an additional folder in a high-quality folder.

Over the last 10 years, we have attracted national attention from art and animal lovers in the genre of animal portrait painting. Many dog and horse owners as well as falconers appreciate our expressive portraits, which capture each animal in its uniqueness and individuality. We have mastered the entire repertoire from head and full-body portraits to double portraits, which are particularly popular with dog owners. The portraits, lovingly crafted down to the smallest detail, fascinate not only with their extraordinary three-dimensionality, but also with the treatment of the abstract and perfectly colour-coordinated background. The well-balanced compositions also lend the portraits an intensity that turns each animal depicted into a true personality. We use photographs, which we usually take ourselves, as models for the works, which are created in many layers of colour and in alternating working processes. Depending on the motif, we need between 8 and 12 weeks to complete the work, with the costs varying depending on the agreed size and type of portrait. The finished portraits are then delivered to their new owners either in passe-partout folders or framed, depending on your wishes, by insured shipping in protected cardboard packaging or are ready for collection from our studios in Bad Honnef.
